Nick Sismey is the winner of this year’s President’s Award for his contribution to both Rolls-Royce Leisure and the Derby HO Racing Club (DHORC) over the past 25 years.

Nick is the Chairman of the DHORC, which he founded in 1992 after a very successful and now annual Le Mans slot car 24-hour race.

The annual President’s Award recognises individuals who have made significant contributions to both the Rolls-Royce Leisure Association and their club.

Over the years, the award has been presented to individuals from the arts sections, sports sections, Pavilion committee members and also employees.

The DHORC is one of the best attended slot car clubs in the world, averaging 27 members per meeting and fast approaching its 500th club night.

With Nick’s guidance, the club is always pushing to become bigger and better, from organising corporate events at Donington park or Rockingham to raising funds for both the club and local charities.

On club nights, he is always the first to arrive and the last to leave – doing his best to ensure everyone feels welcome and enjoys their evening.

The club would not be the success it is today without Nick Sismey.
